TMHE Reduces Material Handling Costs with Mobile Elevating Work Platform

Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE)'s new mobile elevating work platform is designed for reach trucks, increasing the flexibility of forklift operations and enabling one-man operation.

Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) is dedicated to providing high quality material handling solutions that also help to reduce costs. The mobile elevating work platform module is compatible with the BT-Reflex R-series reach trucks and complements their design. It allows customers to get more out of the capabilities of their forklifts. The BT Reflex R-series trucks feature AC motors and Transitional Lift Control (TLC), and are renowned for their consistently high levels of performance when working at great heights. When used with the mobile elevating work platform, they make high-level maintenance work and inventory checking even easier.

With this new feature, the operator has more freedom and control in operations: the platform offers the possibility to lift and lower, and to drive directly from the elevating cage. control lift, lower, reach in and drive straight from the elevating cage. This allows for fast and efficient material handling performed by one person, and with no need for additional scissor-lifts. The work platform is available with the BT RRE160 and the BT RRE200 models. It can work at heights of up to 10 metres, and includes extra features such as an 'E-bar' mounting for ancillary equipment together with a power supply.

In accordance with TMHE's utmost care for creating safe products, the mobile platform is designed with an anti-slip floor and high safety rails, a slope indicator for extra stability, as well as emergency lowering and evacuation facilities. The speed is also limited to 2km/h when driving from the platform.

"The safety and the productivity of our customers lie at the core of our activity. We have created the mobile elevating work platform as a new additional option that offers them real savings. This solution reduces material handling costs eliminating the need for two-man crew operations. The platform can easily be removed, according to the customers' specific requirements, enabling the truck to operate as a standard BT Reflex R-series reach truck," says Therese Précenth, Product Manager, Toyota Material Handling Europe.
