Time Delay Fuses protect inductive components.

Press Release Summary:

Fusetron® Dual-Element Fuses provide branch circuit, short-circuit, and ground fault protection. When sized properly, they also provide overload protection. Time delay feature makes it possible to use fuse ampere ratings that are much smaller than those of non-time-delay fuses. When used in circuits subject to surge currents such as those caused by motors and transformers, fuses can be sized close to full-load amperage to give maximum overcurrent protection.

Low Cost Motor Protection with Bussmann® Fusetron® Dual-Element, Time-Delay Fuses

ST. LOUIS-Fusetron® fuses can provide branch circuit, short-circuit and ground fault protection. They can also provide overload protection, when sized properly, including protection
against burnouts from overloads, or single phasing on three phase systems.

These fuses, when used in circuits subject to surge currents such as those caused by motors, transformers and other inductive components, can be sized close to full-load amperage to give maximum overcurrent protection. Fusetron fuses also provide a high degree of short-circuit protection (great current limitation), in circuits in which a short circuit occurs.

The time delay feature makes it possible to use fuse ampere ratings that are much smaller than those of non-time-delay fuses. In addition, smaller, less costly switches and panels can be used, amounting to considerable savings.

Fusetron fuses simplify selective coordination using Bussmann's published Selectivity Ratios. They are UL listed and CSA certified.
