FKI Logistex Crisplant's S-3000e Tilt-Tray Sorter Reaches New Levels of Accuracy, Speed, and Capacity

(Frederick, MD: August 14, 2002) The innovative S-3000E Tilt-Tray
Sorter from FKI Logistex (LSE: FKI.L) Crisplant Inc.(www.crisplantinc.com), one of the world's largest manufacturers of high-speed tilt-tray and cross-belt sorting systems, reaches new, higher levels of accuracy and capacity for high-speed sortation systems.

In a continuation of the excellence of the high-speed sortation
industry workhorse, the S-2000, the S-3000E is the latest generation tilt-tray sorter from FKI Logistex Crisplant. Utilizing an electronic tilting mechanism and operating at only 62 decibels - 12 decibels lower than earlier models - the S-3000E sets the new standard for high-speed sortation.

With several orders worldwide to date, the S-3000E sorter is ideal for a variety of applications, including mail-order catalog, retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, postal and courier distribution, baggage handling, and book distribution.

By banking the trays in the curves, the S-3000E's electronic tilt
design feature allows the sorter to reach higher speeds than the
current generation tilt-tray sorters speed barrier of 2.1 m/s or
approximately 410 ft/min. The new electrical tray tilting mechanism, powered by its own onboard motor, can be specifically programmed to tilt/discharge between five and 45 degrees for greater discharge accuracy and higher discharge control as well as lower maintenance costs.

A patent is pending on an S-3000E innovation, which allows operators to use a Palm Pilot or other PDAs to upload or download instructions to any tilting device along the system, facilitating much easier maintenance and troubleshooting.
