TIGG Delivers MEGA-SIZE Activated Carbon Adsorbers

Oakdale, PA – TIGG, LLC announced today that it has fabricated and delivered four mega-sized activated carbon adsorbers that will be integrated into the Hardin Road Water Treatment Plant under construction in Piqua, OH. Each vessel is 14 feet in diameter and holds 60,000 pounds of activated carbon. All four TIGG adsorbers were installed at the new facility in less than three hours.

John Mickler, TIGG VP and General Manager said, “Our CP60K-14 adsorber is the most practical size, large scale vessel that can be shop-fabricated and trucked to the project site, ensuring efficient construction and strict compliance with our high quality standards.” All four adsorbers were produced at TIGG’s 155,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Arkansas.

“The successful completion of this project really defines TIGG and the capabilities of our employees to deliver high quality products and services on a large scale to our customers,” Mickler added.

TIGG’s systems are employed nationwide for the removal of potable water contaminates regulated by EPA, such as HAA5 (the five haloacetic acids) and THHM (total trihalomethanes). The same systems are removing PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) from drinking water supplies that do not meet the EPA’s new health advisories for these harmful chemicals.

Headquartered in Oakdale, Pennsylvania, TIGG has provided a broad range of activated carbon adsorption equipment, systems, filtration media, and services for the removal of trace contaminants from water, air, process liquids, and vapors for almost 40 years.

TIGG is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Spencer Turbine Company, which is recognized as a global leader in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of highly specialized blowers, gas boosters, and central vacuum systems. For more information, visit www.tigg.com and www.spencerturbine.com.
