Stackpole's New RNS Series Ultra Mini Metal Film Resistors Offer Very High Power Ratings Per Size

RALEIGH, NC - Stackpole Electronics has announced the release of the RNS Series of ultra mini metal film thru-hole resistors. Designed with options including a standard 1/8 watt body size with a ½ watt power rating, the ¼ watt size has a 1 watt power rating, and the ½ watt size has a 2 watt power rating. The RNS is able to achieve this high power handling performance through tight manufacturing control of a unique power film alloy. As more and more products attempt to downsize and add features, this series will be useful with helping design engineers to achieve these size reductions and added functionality goals in an axial leaded resistor form.

The RNS Series will be ideal for a variety of applications and end products including home appliances, solid state power supplies, instrumentation, safety equipment, welding systems, robotics, and industrial power and control applications where an axial leaded resistor robust performance under harsh environmental conditions is desired. Pricing will vary depending on size, tolerance, TCR and resistance value and ranges from $0.015 to $0.10 each in full reel quantities. Contact Stackpole or one of our franchised distributors for volume pricing.
