Robohand's New Through-Hole Gripper Offers Increased Productivity and Flexibility

November 24, 2003 -- Robohand (Monroe, Conn.), a DE-STA-CO Industries Company, has just introduced its new PPC series through-hole parallel grippers designed to facilitate part ejection, part feeding, part present sensing, and part cleaning. The new grippers are ideal when a component ejector is needed after un-gripping a part or where air is needed to blow the part center clean. The through-hole design also allows for mounting of sensors to detect part presence and for feeding parts to machining centers.

The new PPC series features three concentric jaws to provide excellent repeatability, making it easier to accurately load and unload round parts. The shielded design of the gripper protects the internal drive mechanism from chips and other particulates, making it an excellent choice for harsh shop floor environments. Compact and robust in design, this powerful gripper works in confined spaces, combining long strokes with grip forces ranging from 201 - 974 lbs. @ 100 psi.

The new grippers, available in three sizes, offer flexibility in that they can be mounted and operated in any direction. In addition, they come with a wide range of options including extended strokes, safety springs, sensors and high-temperature seals -- expanding the range of applications they are suited for.
