Threat Sketch announces plans for creating a cybersecurity toolkit designed for small governments. The toolkit will include: An educational guide that describes leadership’s role in managing cyber risk and how the NIST (National Institute for Standards and Technology) Cybersecurity Framework can be leveraged to guide a cyber risk management initiative, a budgeting tool and a cyber risk assessment that illustrates the risk landscape and supports strategic planning among the organization’s highest leaders. The tool also provides a risk-driven, vendor neutral action plan for reducing cyber risk that is balanced and aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (PRWEB) DECEMBER 20, 2018 - Threat Sketch, a leading cybersecurity company, announces plans for creating a cybersecurity toolkit designed for small governments. This work will be done with funding and support provided by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, National Protection and Programs Directorate, Office of Infrastructure Protection, through the National Infrastructure Protection Program Security & Resilience Challenge, which is implemented by the National Institute for Homeland Security (NIHS).

The information held by small governments is as much at risk for cyber attack as any other government agency, business or nonprofit organization, and the risk of attack continues to increase. Almost 40 percent of local government CIOs reported more attacks during the last 12 months, while another 18 percent reported a cyber attempt almost daily, according to surveys by International City/County Management Association.
