Third Large-Format Rapida for Glama Pak

Rapida large format also on the advance in Australia

KBA Australasia in Sydney recently received a third order for a large-format Rapida press from speciality packaging printers Glama Pak. The six-colour press with coater unit and extended delivery is to be installed in Melbourne in March 2008 as the latest extension to the company's production capacities. Glama Pak is already running a six-colour Rapida 162a (sheet format 120 x 162 cm) and a seven-colour Rapida 142, both with inline coating facilities. All three presses are characterised by a high degree of automation, including, for example, FAPC fully automatic plate changing and the DensiTronic S colour measurement and control system, and are furthermore integrated into a digital workflow via KBA LogoTronic professional.

Glama Pak has been returning tremendous growth since switching to Rapida large-format presses a few years ago. CEO Dean Caton: "Having assessed the need for a third large-format printing press, we had no hesitation in selecting another KBA press. Our experience with the previous installations, especially on the more recent Rapida 142, which has been practically troublefree, gave us great confidence in KBA's abilities. And the KBA service and support offerings add further to our peace of mind."

Dave Lewis, sheetfed general manager at KBA Australasia: "We are absolutely thrilled to be installing already the third large-format Rapida at Glama Pak in spring 2008, and are pleased to be making this contribution to their continued growth and success."
