Wyse Technology Announces Line of Performance Thin Clients Based on Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard



Wyse Virtual Clients to Support Cloud Computing, the Latest Windows Embedded Technology, and Still Uses Only 1/10th the Power of a PC

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 22 / / - Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced the Wyse R90LW and R90LEW devices based on Windows Embedded Standard, Microsoft's next generation of Windows XP Embedded. Windows Embedded Standard enables these advanced enterprise devices to run thousands of existing Windows applications and drivers for custom applications, as well as support applications in a cloud computing environment. The R90LW and R90LEW devices come with 2GB of Flash to store the OS and local functionality, and 1GB of RAM.

- Internet Explorer 7 - Improved navigation, printing and access to RSS
feeds. Dynamic security protection provided by a robust new
architecture, helps defend against malware and phishing.

The R90LW and R90LEW devices will ship late April and are priced starting at $649. For a limited time, Windows Embedded Standard-based clients will be available at the same price as Windows XP Embedded-based models. XPe will be supported until 2011 and WES will be supported until 2019.
