Single Thin Client Supports up to Five Displays
Allows Session Spanning and Multiple Sessions on the Same Client
ALPHARETTA, Ga., May 14 /-- Automation Control Products (ACP, Alpharetta, GA) announces MultiMonitor, the newest module for their Thin Client management software, ThinManager. Unique to ThinManager's new multiple monitor support is its ability to span a single session across screens, display a different session on each screen, or present a combination of the two.
Because ThinManager manages the Terminal Servers, the Thin Client hardware, and the Windows operating system, ACP is the only company that can offer this level of flexibility.
"Many of our customers are industrial users who use touch screens so we realized it was important to support that as well," said Tim Caine, Product Manager for ACP. A single ThinManager Ready Thin Client can host up to five displays, each at a different resolution and each showing a different Terminal Server session.
MultiMonitor Thin Clients can also be linked with ACP's Share Keyboard module if more than five screens are desired.
There are currently two manufacturers who make the special clients that include five video ports, but ACP expects more manufacturers will follow suit. "The initial response to this product has been tremendous, especially among customers who want to split a single session among multiple displays," Mr. Caine said. ACP's ThinManager already provides the easiest method for deploying Thin Client hardware - this new module makes the clients even more powerful by letting the user bring more value to his existing software licenses.
The configuration wizards in the ThinManager 3.1 software allow the user to easily identify the logical screen configuration, the session(s) running on each screen, the screen resolutions and how spanned sessions are displayed. The session to screen mapping can also be modified directly from the Thin Client itself.
