Original Press Release:

3-Way Thermostatic By-Pass Valve for Fin-Tube Baseboard

This valve is designed to be used in either new or retrofit fin-tube baseboard installations to permit ZONE CONTROL OF INDIVIDUAL ROOMS using the non-electric THERMOSTAT, withtout any wiring required whatsoever. The valve is furnished with compression fittings for 3/4" copper tube, and is installed ahead of the fin-tube in the supply side, where the radiation enters the room. Standard copper fittings are used to connect to a bare by-pass tube which will easily fit into most commercially available fin-tube baseboard. A hole is cut into the front cover of the baseboard enclosure for attachment of the THERMOSTAT to the 3-way Valve. This simple installation is repeated in each room. The No. 320 Liquid-filled Thermostat has quick response to temperature changes. From a low freeze protection setting of 43°F, the Thermostat may be set in stepless increments up to 79°F. The thermostat senses heat from solar gain, lights or appliances and prevents overheating and saves energy.
