Web Comfort(TM) System from Jackson Systems Expands Product Line to Include Occupancy Sensors, Lighting, Plug Loads, Fans and Metering

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, - The Web Comfort Wirelessly Communicating Thermostat System has expanded to control occupancy sensors, lighting, fans and plug loads. The system can also be used with a meter to monitor and track energy use for a specific area, load type or building. The new Web Comfort Manager comes out-of-the-box with the software necessary to control all major areas of energy consumption in a building. This plug-and-play system is easy-to-install and communicates wirelessly via a secure mesh network.

“With these new capabilities, we are able to offer contractors a total energy management system for a fraction of the cost of a full-blown DDC system,” says Tom Jackson, CEO. The new system is available with wired and wireless motion sensors, contact sensors, destratification fans, meters, and outlets. Each of these accessories communicates with the Web Comfort Manager. This allows the building owner or manager to control the energy usage of the building through the Internet. Robust reporting also allows tracking of energy usage. The Manager coordinates all energy management functions utilizing the Web Comfort wireless network.

The compact Web Comfort Manager is the brains behind the system. It receives input from the environmental sensors, local controls and metering devices throughout a facility. Based upon sensor input, schedule, local input, curtailment and event information, adjustments to lighting, HVAC, fans and plug devices are implemented in real time to minimize energy waste. “The Web Comfort Wirelessly Communicating Thermostat System uses a secure, Zigbee mesh network. Each device acts as a repeater, passing the signal in a daisy chain sequence to seamlessly communicate back to the Web Comfort Manager,” states Jackson.

The Web Comfort Wirelessly Communicating Thermostat Systems will offer contractors a cost effective alternative to more expensive energy management systems. The ability to use the system in conjunction with a Tridium-based system supports expansion of the system as the building or facility needs change.
