Thermoplastic Valve suits critical applications.
Press Release Summary:
Based on globe-style flow pattern with direct operation of valve shaft, air-actuated Series ASO can be operated pneumatically or hydraulically to provide positive, bubble-tight shut-off. Design incorporates clear, acrylic upper housing and heavy-duty spring and is available in 5 types of operation. Valve shaft, machined of solid Teflon®, eliminates sticking, while Fail-Dry® safety feature provides warning of primary seal failure while valve is still 100% operable.

Air Actuated Valves for Critical Applications
Summary: Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. has developed a series of thermoplastic valves for shutoff or diverting of highly corrosive and ultra-pure liquids. Automatic, fail-safe and double-acting versions feature Teflon shaft and position indication. Valves can be operated pneumatically or hydraulically.
Cedar Grove, NJ - Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. has developed a series of air-actuated thermoplastic valves with positive, bubble-tight shut off for critical liquid processing. Based on a globe style flow pattern with direct operation of the valve shaft, Series ASO is particularly designed for applications where other types of valves have proven unsuitable.
The new design is immediately recognizable by its clear acrylic upper housing and heavy duty spring. Series ASO is available in five basic types of operation: Liquid line pressure to open/air to close, double acting air x air, fail-safe normally closed, fail-safe normally open, and as a three-way diverter valve.
The valve shaft is machined of solid Teflon® to eliminate sticking. Because the heavy-duty spring and compressed air operate directly on the shaft, the valves will operate under conditions in which more common diaphragm valves and ball valves are ineffective.
In addition to its absolute positive shut off, Series ASO is equipped with Plast-O-Matic's patented Fail-Dry® safety feature. The Fail-Dry is a vented chamber between two seals that provides advance warning of a primary seal failure while the valve is still 100% operable.
Series ASO is available in a number of rugged thermoplastics, including Grade 1 Type 1 PVC, Natural Polypropylene, and Kynar® PVDF. Elastomers are Viton®, EPDM, or Buna-N. Pipe sizes range from ½" through 2".
