Thermoplastic Hose meets demands of aerial lift applications.

Press Release Summary:

Intended for conditions associated with aerial lift equipment, 518D non-conductive, thermoplastic hose has permeation-resistant core material as well as outer jacket optimized for abrasion resistance. IDs from 1/8–¼ in. are available, and hose can be used in pressure, suction, and return lines, in pilot lines, on outriggers, and on actual boom cable track. In cable track, multiline bonded hoses reduce jacket wear and extend hose life.

Parker Increases Hose Selection for Aerial Lift Market

RAVENNA, OH – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, manufactures hoses specifically for the harsh conditions associated with aerial lift equipment such as stick boom, scissor lift and digger derricks.  The newest hose designed for the aerial lift is the 518D hose.   This non-conductive, thermoplastic hose has a new core material that is more resistant to permeation and an outer jacket that withstands up to 5x more abrasion resistance than many other hoses in the market today.  In addition, 518D is light weight and easy to handle.  Sizes for this hose range from 1/8” I.D. up to 1/4" I.D.

Parker’s thermoplastic hoses for aerial boom lifts are used in pressure, suction and return lines, in pilot lines, on outriggers and on the actual boom cable track. In the cable track, multiline bonded hoses reduce jacket wear and extend the life of the hose.  By installing one bonded hose element rather than multiple hoses, companies lower material cost, reduce installation time and lower the weight of the finished assembly.

For size above 1/4" I.D., Parker offers 518C, 538DM and 588N (also a high pressure hose).  All of these aerial lift hoses are offered from the Parflex Division in Ravenna, Ohio.
