Support Programs Help Plants Run More Efficiently and Avoid Costly Downtime

FRANKLIN, Mass. Backed by the largest service team in the industry, the support programs include:

o Installation assistance and startup: A field service engineer from Thermo Fisher Scientific provides plant staff with installation and startup assistance on request. Services cover the verification of proper mechanical installation, correct signal wiring and tubing terminations and power connections, as well as power-up and alignment of the sample conditioning probe and analyzer rack and complete system calibration.

o RATA support: In conjunction with the actual certification of a unit for mercury emissions monitoring, a field service engineer arrives at the plant site at least one day prior to the test team to check out the fully functional Thermo Scientific Mercury Freedom System and calibrate each component prior to starting the RATA and 7-day drift tests. The team remains on site during the RATA test to assist the certification team.

o Preventive maintenance: Thermo Fisher Scientific offers contract options to perform pre-scheduled preventive maintenance at the plant site on a pre-defined (monthly, quarterly, annual) basis. Preventive maintenance is performed to verify or restore operations to factory performance specifications. A Thermo Fisher Scientific service engineer performs a full spectrum of maintenance items as required: visual inspection and cleaning; diagnostics check to verify that all operating parameters are within factory specifications; check instrument flows and pressures; leak testing; replacement of analyzer lamps, scrubbers and Hg converter cores; and inertial filter cleaning.

Also available in the services programs are training and technical options. A Thermo Fisher Scientific certified trainer can deliver product training on-site or in-factory, covering the theory of operation, assembly and disassembly, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, along with a hands-on demonstration.
