Thermark Takes Laser Marking Capabilities To A New Level

New Product Technology Offers Unmatched Functionality and Versatility For Manufacturers

CHICAGO - IMTS (Sept. 8, 2006) - Manufacturers have yearned for the ability to permanently mark products without compromising the integrity of the material being marked. With its patented laser marking process and innovative products, TherMark Holdings, Inc., the leading developer of laser marking technology and materials, is revolutionizing the face of industrial marking today.

TherMark's line of marking materials, or inks, are applicable to a variety of surfaces and are available as paintable liquids, pastes, aerosols or adhesive transfer tapes - giving manufacturers unmatched functionality and versatility for their individual laser marking needs.

"During our extensive research and development process, TherMark's technical engineers
and scientists work closely with industrial customers to develop products that actually meet the full range of requirements for the highest quality in laser marking for this industry," said Paul Harrison, TherMark's founder, chief technology officer and chairman. "The success of TherMark's industry-leading products is the result of customer input combined with years of application research."

Furthermore, due to the special formulations and their unique combination with laser
energy, these products bring new versatility for use with CO2 lasers and solid state (fiber or YAG) lasers. For example, using the TherMark materials, CO2 lasers may now easily and quickly make permanent marks on metal (e.g. stainless steel). Similarly, the TherMark materials produce permanent, high-resolution marks in color for glass and ceramics, further expanding the capabilities of fiber or YAG laser systems. In the past, these types of marks were not possible with either of these two types of lasers, respectively.

Permanence, high contrast, high resolution, color and the ability to preserve the integrity of the substrate are the hallmarks of TherMark's products. The company is showcasing the following products at IMTS 2006 as a sampling of the full line of laser marking materials available for industrial use:

o LMM 14 Black: This product is a workhorse for industrial marking. It is the safest,
most effective, water-based product for producing a permanent black laser mark on
metals. LMM 14 Black is ideal for marking metals such as stainless steel, iron,
copper, bronze, chrome, aluminum and pewter. Inks are available as paintable
liquids or aerosols.
o LMM 6018 Black: An all-purpose product, LMM 6018 Black is the safest, most
effective adhesive transfer tape product for laser marking a black image on metals as
well as glass, ceramics and crystal. Application is simple and fast, with no additional
drying time involved. Tape rolls are available in a variety of convenient sizes.
o LMC Family of Products: It is all about color with this line of products, scientifically formulated for the best permanent chemical bond to glass, ceramics and crystal. The LMC product line offers manufacturers a number of different colors from which to choose: black, bronze, red, blue, green, yellow, etch white and bright white. Inks are available as paintable liquids in a variety of convenient sizes.
