Thermal Transfer Ribbons print on RFID labels.

Press Release Summary:

Anti-static GP725 resin-enhanced wax ribbon is highly conductive and dissipates static, resulting in negligible discharges during printing process. It features built-in Clean Start(TM) printhead cleaner, which removes debris before it builds up on printhead. Ribbon is designed for compatibility with Zebra, Datamax, Sato, and other smart label thermal transfer printers.

IIMAK's Anti-Static GP725 Thermal Transfer Ribbons for Printing on RFID Labels

(Amherst, New York) January 24, 2005- Highly resistive thermal transfer ribbons introduce excessive static electricity into the printing process. Even at modest voltages, these static discharges can zap an RFID chip, rendering it non-readable. When printing variable information on RFID labels, choose IIMAK's anti-static GP725 resin-enhanced wax ribbon. Because GP725 has a low level of surface resistivity, damaging static electricity is minimized, lowering the risk of transponder failure from static discharges.

While research shows as little as 500 volts of static electricity can damage an RFID tag, some thermal transfer ribbons can produce as much as 1,000 volts. IIMAK's GP725 is highly conductive and effectively dissipates static, resulting in negligible discharges in the printing process. GP725 is designed for compatibility with Zebra, Datamax, Sato and other smart label thermal transfer printers and delivers exceptional print quality on paper-based RFID labels.

GP725 features Clean Start(tm), IIMAK's exclusive, patent pending printhead cleaner. It is built right in to the GP725, between the leader and the ribbon and is designed to remove debris before it builds up on the printhead. Clean Start makes it easier than ever to maintain printheads and print quality with no additional supplies. It is simply pulled through the locked printhead at the start of each ribbon to remove residue.
