Thermal Product Solutions Ships a Custom Gruenberg Oven to a Medical Device Manufacturer
February 17, 2017 - Thermal Product Solutions (TPS), a global manufacturer of thermal-processing equipment, announced the shipment of a custom Gruenberg curing oven to a medical device manufacturing company. This batch oven will be used for curing and sterilizing silicone breast implants and other implantable silicone medical devices in PC thermoforms with Tyvek lids.
This custom Gruenberg oven has a maximum temperature rating of 232°C and a work chamber of 68”W x 59”D x 70”H. The Gruenberg oven was designed to cure and sterilize silicone breast implants in a variety of sizes and shapes. To maximize the customer’s production rate, the oven was designed to accommodate two truckloads per cycle.

Unique features of this Gruenberg curing oven include:
- Dual, side by side chamber with Pass-through construction (doors on each end of unit)
- Stainless steel fully welded liner
- Pneumatic door locks for loading and unloading sequence control
- Horizontal airflow
- Forced intake package for enhanced end of process cooling cycle
- Allen Bradley HMI and PLC control system
- Custom stainless steel product trucks and trays supplied per customer’s specifications
