Fox Thermal Instruments Launches New Product



MARINA, Calif. — Fox Thermal Instruments announced today the launch of their new product:  the Fox Model FT1 Thermal Mass Flow Meter.



Fox Thermal Instruments has expanded its product line with the addition of the FT1 Thermal Mass Flow Meter. The FT1 is a high-end flow meter, and it features a robust design. Among its advanced features are:



• DDC-Sensor™ - Advanced Direct Digitally Controlled sensor technology

• Gas-SelectX™ - Onboard gas selection menu

• Zero CAL-CHECK™ - In Situ Calibration Validation Routine

• RS485 Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP - Optional Communication Protocols

• Standard USB Port – Gain Direct Meter-to-PC Connections

• FT1 View™Â  - Software for configuring, graphing and logging data



The FT1 was designed to be used in the most common gas monitoring applications. It is ideal for applications monitoring natural gas, air, and digester gas.  In addition, with its rugged-design, the FT1 is ideal for heavy industrial applications in HVAC, paper, glass and ceramics.



The DDC-Sensor provides a technology platform for calculating accurate gas correlations.   The FT1 correlation algorithms allow the meter to be calibrated on a single gas in the factory while providing the user the ability to select other gases in the Gas-SelectX™ gas menu. Current available gases include Air, Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Natural Gas, Nitrogen, and Methane/Carbon Dioxide/Nitrogen Mixes.



The FT1’s Zero CAL-CHECK™ feature allows users to confirm that the meter is functioning properly and accurately -- with just a simple push of a button. 



Other FT1 features:



• One standard 4 to 20mA output for flow or temperature

• A second output selectable for either:

- Pulse output (pulses per unit/units per pulse); or

- RS485 Modbus RTU; or

- BACnet MS/TP



FT1 View™ software allows easy adjustments to the meter configuration, evaluation of alarm conditions, collection of process data, and measurement viewing from your PC or control station.  Moreover, this software can be used to initiate Zero CAL-CHECK™ -- and it automatically logs the results of each Zero CAL-CHECK ™ test.  If any regulatory submission is required, the software will generate a certificate for easy recordkeeping.



A USB connection port comes standard on the new Model FT1 which allows quick and easy access with a laptop.
