New Highly Sensitive Portable Thermal Imagers Deliver Highest Quality Images and Ease of Use for Building Sciences Applications

Minneapolis, MN-August 24, 2005-Infrared Solutions, Inc. has announced the new IR-InSight XS and XST portable thermal imagers. The XS and XST models were developed specifically to perform in low contrast thermal conditions encountered in building sciences applications including roofing inspection, moisture remediation, energy auditing and building inspection. Both the XS and XST models offer industry-leading sensitivity (NETD < 70mK), and the XST model features center accurate center point temperature measurement. "The demanding environment for thermal inspection in building sciences prompted us to develop a solution that combines the highest level of thermal sensitivity, with our industry leading 3.5" display screen", said Sean O'Driscoll, Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Infrared Solutions. "The IR-InSight XS and XST cameras reveal problems and details other infrared cameras cannot, and are also the easiest imagers to operate in the field." The IR-InSight XS and XST models feature Infrared Solutions advanced Vanadium Oxide (VOx) uncooled microbolometer (160 x 120 pixel array) that provides thermal sensitivity in the 8µm to 14µm range. This precise sensitivity combines with a large 3.5" LCD display to facilitate detection of more and smaller problems before major damage can occur, also providing easier and more accurate identification of origins of moisture or energy loss issues. The XST model with center point radiometry is calibrated to a range of 0°C to 100°C (32°F to 212°F) and offers ±2°C accuracy. Both cameras feature internal Flash memory with capacity for 150 images, the ability to instantly review images on the camera display, and PC connectivity via an onboard RS-232/USB port. IR-InSight XS and XST models include SightView Pro software at no additional charge that lets users easily analyze, organize and archive infrared images in eight different color palettes for the clearest visual representation of issues. SightView Pro also provides powerful tools to customize and prepare professional reports of infrared surveys.
