Thermal Dispersion Flow Switch delivers 0.07 fps repeatability.

Press Release Summary:

Using impulse thermal dispersion measurement technique, Series TDFS indicates whether flow rate is above or below user-set value, from 0.5-10 fps, with NO and NC NPN outputs. Setpoint is field set by tapping included magnet on desired rate 3 times, and 2 LED status indicators on opposite sides of unit illuminate green and red when flow is above and below setpoint, respectively. Also, empty pipe does not pose overheating threat.

NEW Series TDFS Thermal Dispersion Flow Switch

W.E. Anderson Division of Dwyer Instruments, Inc., the preferred source for your complete range of practical and affordable instrumentation, is announcing the release of its NEW SERIES TDFS THERMAL DISPERSION FLOW SWITCH.

The Series TDFS Thermal Dispersion Flow Switch is a thermal flow switch that indicates whether the flow rate is above or below a user set flow rate with NO and NC NPN outputs. Setpoint is easily field set, just tap the included magnet on the setpoint target three times at the desired flow rate and it's done. Incorporated into the unit are two LED status indicators on opposite sides of the unit providing visual switch indication, green when the flow is above set point, red when the flow is below setpoint.

The TDFS uses an impulse thermal dispersion measurement technique to measure the flow rate where the probe is heated above the process temperature and then is allowed to cool down to the process temperature. Empty pipe is not a problem with the TDFS unlike some competitors units that will overheat. Thermal flow switches can offer better long term reliability and life expectancy than mechanical flow switches. TDFS advantages over mechanical flow switches are no paddles or vanes that can break off into the flow media, no jams or material stopping the paddle movement, as well as no seals on movement assembly to wear or leak.
