ThermaCote Continues to be MAS Certified Green

ThermaCote, Inc. of Lawrenceville, GA – (www.thermacote.com), formed in 1985 to manufacture a durable and energy-saving thermal barrier for the construction industry,  announced that its Ceramic Base Insulative Coating now qualifies for indoor air quality (IAQ) certification by MAS Certified Green® (www.mascertifiedgreen.com), a global leader in independent certification of IAQ Claims.

MAS Certified Green® certification sets the toughest limits in North America for indoor air emissions, guaranteeing that certified products contribute to healthier indoor environments. "Indoor air quality is extremely important because most people spend as much as 90 percent of their day indoors, either at home, work or school," said Martin Bennett, Technical Director at MAS Certified Green. "We're pleased to see ThermaCote, Inc.'s continuing commitment to healthier indoor environments. Poor air quality can be caused by a number of factors, including inadequate ventilation, poor cleaning and excessive emissions of volatile organic compounds," continued Bennett. "Products labeled as MAS Certified Green® can be used with confidence to help improve overall indoor air quality."

Select IAQ-certified products are currently available in inventory for immediate shipment.

By meeting MAS Certified Green® certification, selected ThermaCote, Inc. coatings also meet several environmental standards, including:

• LEED 2009 and v4 Rating Systems, an international sustainability standard developed by the USGBC to promote Green Building and IAQ by establishing standards for low emitting materials.

• California's 01350 Special Environmental Requirements, (currently referred to as the CDPH Standard Method V1.1) designed in part to ensure good indoor air quality to protect human health.

• Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), a national movement to make schools better places to learn through facilitating the design, construction and operation of high performance schools.
