The SP58 Stamped Ground Rod Clamp Provides More Surface Area Contact and Corrosion Resistance Than an Acorn Clamp

SOLON, Ohio, USA, July 2009 - The SP58 Stainless Steel Ground Rod Clamp, part of the ERITECH® line of facility electrical protection products from ERICO®, is made from a non-rigid stainless steel metal strip, which will not crack when excessive torque is applied during installation. The innovative design and material allow the SP58 to conform around the ground rod and conductor as the bolt is tightened, increasing the conduction area of the connection.

The one-piece thread insert provides a clean internal thread profile with a tighter thread pitch, which creates stability and improves performance. If over-tightened, the bolt head is designed to shear, making a secure connection instead of stripping or cracking like a traditional acorn clamp.

This versatile clamp is designed for many assembly combinations: #10 solid through #2 stranded(6 mm2 - 25 mm2) conductor to ½" through 5/8" (12.7 mm - 16 mm) ground rods, or a #4 (10 mm) rebar and other solid 5/8" (16 mm) metal rods that can be used as grounding electrodes. The stainless steel ground rod clamp is compatible with many types of ground rods and electrodes, including copper, copper-bonded, galvanized, stainless steel, rebar and plain steel rod. The cULus® Listed SP58 clamp is more resistant to corrosion than a bronze acorn clamp and is approved for direct burial.
