Inductotherm Group Brasil Ltda. is excited to announce the startup of the induction melting system with the highest installed power in South America.

WHB Componentes Automotivos specializes in the machining of high precision components for the automotive sector. The quality of its products and services, the utilization of up to date equipment, the continuous improvement of its production processes, and the constant upgrading of the human talents, led WHB to obtain a fast and special attention in the worldwide automotive market.

Technology, innovation and quality were the main reasons that guided WHB to choose Inductotherm for their expansion plan and to help them achieve the most modern ductile and grey iron foundry.

The installation and start-up of the melting system went smoothly and is just one part of a two part project that will help WHB reach their commitment to expand their ductile and grey iron foundry to upwards of more than 50 Tons per hour.

For this first step of the project, designed to reach a target of 25 t/h, WHB contracted Inductotherm to supply a 14,000 kW VIP® DUAL-TRAK® power supply with two 20,000 kg capacity Heavy Steel Shell Coreless furnaces. The project was conducted as a turnkey job, including all the water systems, isolation transformers and rigging of the installation.

In a few more months, second phase of project will be complete and with the installation and startup of the largest iron channel furnace in South America. A 120,000 Ton Channel Furnace, powered by a 1000 kW VIP® POWER-MELT® power supply will duplex the molten metal provided by these induction furnaces.

This equipment will allow WHB to produce high quality castings, with high productivity and in a very economic manner. Inductotherm VIP® Dual-Trak® Systems can power two furnaces simultaneously for greater production with a minimum investment for each ton of metal being poured and allow for equipment power utilization levels approaching 100%. Inductotherm Heavy Steel Shell Coreless Furnaces have been strategically designed to maximize power efficiencies, extend lining and coil life and reduce EMF emmissions.

Inductotherm Group Brasil Ltda. is the largest manufacturer of induction equipment in Brazil and South America and is part of the Inductotherm Group which brings together some forty companies strategically located around the world. They all share a focus on serving the metals and materials industry and all are leaders in their respective disciplines.
