The Metal Shop Installs New Tube Laser and Tube Laser Software

The Metal Shop a Pleasant Prairie, WI based custom metal fabrication business has recently upgraded their machine inventory by adding Mazak Fabri Gear 150 tube laser. The machine which can cut tubes of any geometry up to six inches in it's largest dimension is already up and running.  The machine has already come in handy early on. The Metal Shop is heavily into supporting trade show exhibit companies, one of the companies had a very large display for the World Route's 14 conference in Chicago in September. It is easy to say that without the new tube laser the job would never have been completed. As important as the laser is, it is only as good as the software programming it.  That is why  SigmaTube software was chosen. What sets this software package apart is the ability to upload complete tube assemblies and it will sort and nest the job. Takes hours and even days out of this process normally done manually by a CAD operator. It was truly amazing to take a 3D model and have the software make it possible to turn this project around in under two weeks. Five  40' plus canopies, one machine and software package.  One additional note about this combo, The Metal Shop is primarily an aluminum shop, so there were some learning curves and input by TMS operator Mike Cousins to get the the machine and software to do something that was not done before by many shops. Cut aluminum with square corners.  Contact us for all your tube cutting needs and if you have aluminum tube, we have a good head start over most other tube vendors.
