The MB4242 Foundry version mesh belt conveyor system has 8-12 wheels @ 30hp each. This machine is over-sized from an abrasive conveyance perspective and over-sized to handle sand. There is a rotary scalp drum to remove flash and large sand pieces along with a dual drum magnetic sand separator to further remove sand from the abrasive flow. Sand is very abrasive to shot blast machines in the foundry industry, and this machine was designed to reduce the problem at every step along the way. Even the shot valves are electro-magnetic to give a longer wear life from sand, as opposed to a mechanical shot valve that do not last as long in this environment.
This is a dual type conveyor system, it has rollers as well as a heavy belt to support the 400-500lb parts per linear foot that travel threw the blast cabinet. The exit area has a vibratory conveyor to return shot and sand back to be recycled again through the unit. There is a vacuum that can be used also on the parts as they come off the vibratory conveyor, this will help clean the area around the machine as well.
