The Comprehensive Way to Conferencing: Bosch at Prolight + Sound 2012

From March 21 to 24, 2012, Bosch Security Systems will display its conference systems at the Prolight + Sound exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany. In hall 8 at booth A22, Bosch welcomes all visitors to the largest international technology exhibition in the event, installation and production industry.

Bosch presents the new OMNEO open media networking architecture at the exhibition. By using standard communication protocols, OMNEO is designed to offer professional media network designers enhanced capabilities for integrating diverse products from a range of manufacturers - ensuring that audio and video devices from different manufactures interoperate harmoniously. OMNEO is operable over standard Ethernet networks and will be fully compliant with emerging public standards such as AVB (Audio Video Bridging).
One highlight at the Bosch Security Systems booth is the company's latest Central Control Unit (CCU) for its DCN Next Generation and DCN Wireless systems. The new CCU allows both wired and wireless delegate units to be integrated in one system, facilitating the easy extension of DCN Next Generation systems to meet changing needs, simply by adding DCN wireless discussion units. One control unit is capable of integrating and controlling up to 245 wired and 245 wireless devices. Thanks to an increase in output power, it can now also drive more delegate units, reducing the need for additional power supplies for larger systems. Another cost-saving feature is the fact that the CCU can now be configured as a network controller. This eliminates the need for an extra network controller, as typically required in multi-CCU systems of up to 4000 delegate units.
The DCN Wireless Discussion system also features enhanced functionality. It now enables spontaneous and open discussions - thanks to a voice activation mode that automatically switches on when delegates start speaking into the microphone. Security features have also been upgraded, including the addition of 128-bit AES Rijndael encryption to prevent eavesdropping. With the new CCU, the DCN Wireless Discussion System can also benefit from the many advantages of the latest version of the Conference Software Suite (DCN-SW), such as enhanced access control. Delegates can be allocated their own seat and a PIN number, and each unit can only be accessed using the relevant number. This allows delegates to easily confirm their attendance.
Furthermore, the full HD automatic camera control, which enhances both the DCN Next Generation and DCN Wireless is on display. It features a purpose-built HD Conference Dome camera with a HD-SDI output for crystal-clear images. This new camera is extremely compact and requires no cooling fan - making it quieter and less intrusive than its competitors. It can be fully integrated into the respective DCN Conference Systems thanks to dedicated in-terfacing software developed by Bosch. The HD digital output has a much broader range of applications than earlier analog signals, allowing images of the speaker to be simultaneously broadcast to other venues or displayed on different screens without a loss of quality. This provides installers with an off-the-shelf solution that meets all their customers' HD conferencing needs, while still being competitively priced.
Another highlight at the fair for Bosch is its Custom Designed DCN-Interactive Delegate unit, which guarantees that even the most demanding conference systems run smoothly and efficiently. It is equipped with a host of useful features, such as facilities for speaking, listening or voting, as well as registering a request-to-speak or request-to-respond. It also includes a user-friendly LCD touch panel which can be used for different purposes like activating microphones, casting votes, but also retrieve documents and display user-related information and much more upon request.
Finally, Bosch will showcase the Integrus Language Distribution System, which is ideal for large international conferences and small multilingual meetings alike. Presentations and speeches are transmitted to a pocket receiver and headphones via infrared and offer exceptional audio quality. Thanks to simultaneous interpretations into up to 32 languages, it allows delegates to easily understand what is being said at all times. When combined with Bosch's DCN Conference Systems, such as DCN Next Generation and DCN Wireless, audio quality is enhanced even further and languages are automatically synchronized.
