User-Customizable Text Displays for Simple Automation Tasks
Two new, user-customizable text displays from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) are particularly well suited for simple operator control and monitoring tasks. The TD 200C text display (with up to twenty keys) and the especially compact TD 100C (with up to fourteen keys) are designed specifically for use with Simatic S7-200 micro-PLCs. The TD 100C is also suitable for simple applications in which the use of a display was previously not economically justifiable. The user interfaces of both devices can be used either with the preset design or customized in layout and key assignments. The arrangement, size and function of the keys are freely configurable and can also be changed as required at any time. The faceplate is generated by a graphical configuration tool and printed on transparent plastic via inkjet or laser printer, then affixed to the text display. The configuration tool provides international languages as well as a wide variety of symbols and fonts. What's more, images, symbols, colors and text can be designed to suit individual needs such as customer-specific graphics and company logos.
