Dynisco Now Offers the HDV3 DTUL/VICAT System
Franklin, MA (March 2003) - DYNISCO POLYMER TEST will demonstrate the HDV3 System for the measurement of the Distortion Temperature Under Load (DTUL) and the VICAT softening point of plastic materials at NPE 2003 (North Hall Booth #5526) this June in Chicago, IL. This state of the art HDV System, which meets all of the requirements of the ASTM and ISO standard test methods, has become a benchmark for the plastics industry with its simple operation and sophisticated Windows® based software for easy set up, control, analysis, and calibration.
Up to six test stations, containing digital gauges with LVDT transducers, can be mounted in the system's insulated stainless steel oil bath. A programmable PID controller provides precise control of the temperature rise at rates of 50°C/hour or 2°/minute, up to a maximum temperature of 300°C (400°C optional). Specimen temperatures are monitored by individual thermocouples.
The Windows® based software provides the operator with complete control of the system and its operation. A Set-Up menu allows the operator to run the system to the preprogrammed specifications of the ASTM D648 and D1525, or ISO 75 and 306 test methods or by a custom test procedure specified by the user. Once initiated, the real time progress of the test is displayed through numerical values of sample temperature and deflection plus a bar graph of the ultimate deflection for each specimen. When the test is complete the Analyze mode provides a summary or detailed report of the results for each station and graphs of deflection or temperature verses time. Hard copies of these data are directly available to the operator and they are easily transferred to a data archiving system.
