Upgraded EMC Immunity Test System from Schaffner Features Expanded Testing Capability



EDISON, N.J., July 2006 -- Schaffner Test Systems, a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and test systems for EMC emission and immunity, now offers an upgraded test system for conducted and radiated EMC immunity with a new user interface, broader frequency range, enhanced LCD screen and easy-to-use firmware.

The new NSG 4070's expanded frequency range of 9 kHz to 1 GHz and its modular set-up using either internal or external amplifiers allows it to test a larger variety of applications. This includes testing to industry standards such as IEC 61000-4-6, BCI, IEC 61000-4-3, IEC 61000-4-20 and IEC 61000-4-21.

The NSG 4070 is ideal for test labs and design departments, and features a 5-inch x
7-inch LCD screen. It is equipped with a 9 kHz to 1 GHz integrated signal generator, a
9 kHz to 1 GHz four-channel power meter, and an integrated power amplifier module for different frequency ranges up to 1 GHz and up to 75 W nominal output power. Additionally, a USB memory stick can be plugged into the front panel to access test and measurement data.

The test system's firmware allows the NSG 4070 to be operated independently from an external PC or remotely controlled for system operation. The firmware features well-structured soft key menus that provide easy control of test parameters including generator settings, conducted immunity settings and an extensive range of monitoring options via analog, digital or optical ports.

Schaffner also offers a full range of IEC 61000-4-6 compliant coupling/decoupling networks (CDNs) for the NSG 4070, as well as a current injection probe (CIP) and
EM-clamp as coupling options for RF conducted immunity testing.
