Test System helps carriers qualify 400 Gbps implementations.

Press Release Summary:

With flexibility to configure up to four 100 Gbps client interfaces simultaneously with full traffic profiling, shaping, and monitoring capabilities, Model IQS-610P-HS-400G enables network element manufacturers to simulate real-life services at 400 Gbps link capacity and monitor key QoS metrics to validate implementations. System includes centralized test configurations and result views, in addition to automation capabilities that enable NEMs to repeat test routines throughout development cycle.

Original Press Release:

Beyond 100G-EXFO Launches the First 400G Test Solution

EXFO's new launch fulfills the need of network element manufacturers (NEMs) and carriers to qualify 400 Gbit/s implementation and validate key performance indicators for services.

QUEBEC CITY  – EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX:EXF) announced today the introduction of the IQS-610P-HS-400G solution. This high-speed testing offer builds on EXFO's new IQS-88100G Power Blazer module, and is the industry's only integrated 400G testing solution.

As carriers face ever-increasing needs for bandwidth and capacity due to the demands of high-speed triple-play services, data centers and higher-bandwidth residential broadband connections, system manufacturers are focusing their efforts on developing 400G to meet the growing need for speed. 400 Gbit/s is a vital stepping stone to reaching the ultimate 1 Tbit/s objective, and efficient 400G network implementation calls for thorough 400G testing.

EXFO's new IQS-610P-HS-400G test solution not only fills the 400 Gbit/s data pipe, it provides the flexibility to configure up to four 100 Gbit/s client interfaces simultaneously with full traffic profiling, shaping and monitoring capabilities. This enables NEMs and early adopters of 400 Gbit/s technology to simulate real-life services at 400 Gbit/s link capacity and monitor key QoS metrics to validate systems manufacturers' implementations. The pioneer high-speed test solution also comes with centralized test configurations and result views, in addition to powerful automation capabilities that enable NEMs to repeat test routines throughout the development cycle for increased time savings and impeccable quality.

"In a highly competitive market, NEMs are striving to deliver high-speed transmission solutions that meet carriers' need for speed and optical reach while improving compensation for optical impairments," said Claudio Mazzuca, Vice-President of EXFO's Transport and Service Assurance Division. "Thanks to EXFO's powerful and open test architecture, NEMs and carriers have the assurance of knowing that their new 400G systems are proven capable of handling any of the demanding services that may be placed on them in the future. In addition, 400G development and early trials can be complex and cumbersome to perform without the proper test solution."
