Aries Introduces Ultra High Temperature Dip Test Sockets



Frenchtown, NJ, January 2002 - Aries Electronics, an international manufacturer of standard, programmed and custom interconnection products, has introduced ultra high temperature DIP test sockets for 350°C (662°F) and 500°C (932°F) applications. Featuring a high temperature ceramic body and high conductivity stainless steel contacts, the new socket is ideal for high temperature/short burn-in time applications.

The socket accepts devices from .300" (7.62 mm) center to .600" (15.24 mm) center row-row devices up to 28 positions with leads on .100" (2.54 mm) pitch and is offered in both through-hole or surface mount versions. Plastic contact spreader cam tools are
available for easy device loading and unloading.

The normally closed proprietary stainless steel contacts of the DIP socket provide twin beam wiping action. The contacts are plated with 50u" gold per MIL-G-452-4 over 50u" nickel per QQ-N-290.

As with all Aries test sockets, the DIP socket is available in custom materials, platings, sizes and configurations to suit specific customer applications.
