Anritsu Introduces the Next Generation of Network Transport Testers



The new CMA5000 universal transport analysis (UTA) module is designed to support today's transport standards and provide the 'only tool you need' for Ethernet, SONET/SDH and much more.

Anritsu Corporation (President Hiromichi Toda) introduced its new transport solution for the CMA5000 platform. The Universal Transport Analysis (UTA) module represents a new generation of tester with the ability to support Ethernet, SONET/SDH, OTN, Fibre Channel, and most other existing transport standards.

Small enough to fit snugly into the CMA5000 platform, the UTA provides field engineers with lots of configurability in a very portable solution by also supporting hot pluggable XFP and SFP transceivers. No matter what equipment requires testing, field engineers are assured of having a test module equipped with the correct optical/electrical interface for every situation.

The UTA module is currently available for 10-GigE and OC-192/STM-64 applications, with other applications available soon.

The 10-GigE UTA application provides technicians and engineers with a powerful set of test functions needed for installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting today's 10-GigE networks. A single module provides everything necessary to test 10-GigE LAN-PHY and WAN-PHY networks, including traffic monitoring and generation, RFC2544-based performance analysis, continuity check (PING), and loop back tests in switched networks.

For the OC-192/STM-64 application, the UTA not only provides the standard test set, but makes available a smart monitoring function for checking virtual concatenation, LCAS protocol, and differential delay in NGN networks.
