New Accelerated Reliability Test Chamber Offers Full Functionality In Smaller, Cost Effective Size
Chart's REAL-20 Test Chamber Is Ideal for Smaller Component Testing - Lowers Cost of Environmental Testing
CLEVELAND, OHIO - March 11, 2005 - Chart Industries, Inc. (OTCPK: CIDI) has announced the release of its REAL-20 Accelerated Reliability Test Chamber.
The REAL-20 represents the latest evolution of Chart's highly successful environmental test chamber product line and incorporates numerous features:
o Up to 60 Degrees C per minute rapid thermal change rate.
o Tri-Axial, repetitive shock vibration system (up to 60 GRMS)
o Advanced insulation for thermal efficiency, sound deadening and smaller footprint.
o Monitors up to 36 auxiliary thermal couples and 40 accelerometer inputs.
o Multiple safety features ensure heat, liquid nitrogen, and vibration is inhibited when activated.
o Available PC-based software for chamber operation and data acquisition.
Chart's REAL-20 also incorporates many improvements over its predecessor, the TVC-1 unit. The REAL-20 chamber utilizes the highly praised CTI color touch-screen controller for reliable, flexible and user-friendly control of the HALT chamber. Design
improvements have also been made to make the chamber quieter and more ergonomic for the user.
"The REAL-20 chamber makes our liquid nitrogen enabled cooling technology and sixdegree-of-freedom vibration system available to customers testing smaller products," said Thomas Carey, President of Chart's Distribution & Storage Group. Mr. Carey went on to say, "Providing customers who are testing smaller components with smaller chambers at a cost close to 20% lower than the next chamber size currently available significantly reduces the cost of entry into the reliability testing arena."
Chart's line of environmental test chambers allows its customers to improve product quality, shorten time to market and reduce warranty costs. Customers all over the world
depend on Chart's chambers to conduct Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), in which products are subjected to factors such as extreme temperatures, rapid thermal transitions, and vibration. The intent of this process is to determine the operational limits of a product by subjecting it to stimuli well beyond its expected field environment.
The REAL-20 product is Chart's smallest HALT chamber, enabling customers to find potential failure modes in smaller products that don't require a larger chamber like the REAL-30 or REAL-48 systems.
Chart is the only turn-key environmental test chamber system supplier in the world. Chart's environmental stress testing chambers allow customers to realize the many benefits of testing with highly accelerated thermal ramp rates and vibration. Accelerated life tests and/or HALT are becoming increasingly popular in many industries, allowing customers to greatly improve product quality, reduce time to market and reduce warranty costs. Chart's test chambers are currently servicing customers in many diverse industries including: telecommunications, fiber optics, aerospace, satellite equipment, computer peripherals, and defense.
