Ismeca Announces Its New MP-Plunge, Plunge-To-Board Test And Taping Machine
Vista, CA - Ismeca announces its latest integrated test and taping system, the MP-PLUNGE tube or bulk to test and tape machine. The MP-PLUNGE is ideal for mid-volume input from tube
or bulk to tape applications requiring plunge to board test capability. Based on Ismeca's proven MP platform, the MP-PLUNGE achieves throughputs of up to 3,600 pph. Its integrated
processes include vision inspection, electrical test, and taping with optional laser mark capabilities.
The MP-PLUNGE is RF compatible and interfaces with most standard testers. Rejected parts are automatically sorted and placed into three to five output bins. Its compact footprint enables the
MP-PLUNGE to conserve factory floor space, while affording easy access to all machine subassemblies.
Ismeca's MP-PLUNGE features a state-of-the-art vision system for reliable and accurate inspection. Its multiple vision inspection capabilities can include mark, pin 1, 2D pad inspection, and 3D coplanarity for lead inspection.
The MP-PLUNGE also features two linear servo gantrys: one for input-to-dial and one for output-to-tape. Its single plunge-to-board rotary unit, with a "re-centering before plunging" capability, allows parts to be taken from dial-to-test socket.
The MP-PLUNGE operations are computer controlled with three levels of password protection: engineer, technician, and operator. The system is also CE compliant. In addition, Ismeca's MP-PLUNGE is able to interface to customer host systems by using optional SECS/GEM protocol. This interface allows the download of lot information and upload of production parameters.
