IDC - Terminator System

Carlisle, PA - - The new DIN rail mounted modular terminal block system called the "Terminator" can save up to 80% in wiring labor cost. This unique terminal block system eliminates wire stripping, screw and spring clamps, wire ferrules and costly accessories. The Terminator will handle a wire range from 22 AWG through 14 AWG and is UL rated at 17.5 amps and 450 volts.

The Terminator modules come in 3 and 10 position feed through and disconnect versions which make installation easy and fast. The disconnect versions feature a design that permits the addition of fuse holders for the industry standard 5 x 20mm and 5 x 25mm fuses. The wide range of accessories include side bridges, insertion tools, label holders, IDC to screw adapters, test plugs and more making this the most complete IDC terminal block system on the market.

The 3-point insulation displacement connection feature of the Terminator is unique to the industry and provides gas tight, vibration resistant connection in any application environment. Complete assemblies using the Terminator modules are now available from ASI.

Drive Down Wiring Costs With The TERMINATOR

The TERMINATOR terminal block system will change the way customers think about terminal blocks and how to reduce wiring costs. It will make screw or spring clamp terminal blocks obsolete in most control wiring applications!

TERMINATOR is a revolutionary new terminal block system with nothing else like it on the market!

The TERMINATOR uses a technology called insulation displacement connection (IDC ). IDC technology means that the customer does not have to strip the wire and does not have to turn any screws or open any springs. Connections are as simple as inserting the wire directly into the contact. Due to the multiple position design, 3 and 10 positions, of the TERMINATOR there are not requirements for end covers and many other accessories. If the customer is looking for results, the TERMINATOR reduces wiring time and terminal block installation by up to 80%, this is a real saving. In addition since it is a controlled wiring technology each and every wire is terminated the same every time thereby increasing reliability.

The TERMINATOR has been on the market in Australia and Europe since 1995. It has been installed in many chemical plants, power plants, and many different types of electrical and automation equipment. It is the most proven IDC terminal block on the market with far more applications, customers and history than any competitor could claim.

TERMINATOR was developed and is manufactured by the company Krone. Krone is one of the world's largest producers of IDC connectors for the telecommunication industry. They have used this specialization and experience to develop an industrial version of this technology and introduced it with the TERMINATOR. No other terminal block company in the world can match their experience with this wire termination technology.

The TERMINATOR is different than any other IDC terminal block on the market. It is a modular system made up of 3 and 10 position modules both in feed through and disconnect versions. The contact is at a 45-degree angle to the wire, unique to the TERMINATOR, thereby reducing wire stress creating a more reliable connection. The module housing supports the wire at 4 different points thus protecting the termination especially in vibration applications. Since you can see the contact clearly from the top of the block it is easy to inspect and insure the wire is terminated. The modules can be blank or ordered pre-numbered thereby eliminating terminal block markers. TERMINATOR meets most international approvals including UL and CSA. Finally, and most impressive is the broad line of accessories that make the TERMINATOR a true IDC wiring system using a variety of inexpensive installation tools.

ASI/Krone is first to market with the first real innovation in the terminal block world for years. No one has such a wiring system that is so complete and saves the customer money!
