New Panel Mount Mini Spring Terminal Block Expands Circuit Design Possiblities

Conta-Clip's new ZSRK2.5 Series panel mount mini spring clamp terminal block features an integral provision for internal jumping that allows voltage potential to be distributed throughout a multipole assembly, expanding circuit design possibilities. The ZSRK2.5 Series is available as individual snap-together elements or multipole assemblies up to 12 poles. The 5 mm width blocks feature a top wire entry design and a highly compact profile. With a narrow breadth of just 40 mm (1.58 in) and an overall height of 24 mm (0.95 in), these new mini-terminals are ideal for making wire terminations in confined space applications found in equipment and machinery housings, panels and small enclosures. Direct mounting of multipole assemblies is accomplished by means of flanged mounting sections positioned at the ends of each assembly. An optional terminal housing design with an integral base clip for through hole mounting eliminates the need for fasteners and speeds installation. The ZSRK2.5 Series has received a 300V, 20A, 22-12 AWG UL/CSA electrical rating and meets relevant European requirements.

Conta-Clip's spring clamp connection technology features a precision formed, stainless steel spring clamp which does not require special tools to operate. To make a wire termination, a screwdriver is inserted into a square housing opening, deflecting the spring and opening the clamp. A stripped conductor is then guided into the round wire entry. Once the screwdriver is removed, the spring will close onto the conductor, clamping it between the spring and the copper alloy current bar. This results in a gas tight, vibration proof electrical connection.
