Wieland Introduces Spring Clamp Terminal Block with Pluggable Connections
BURGAW, N.C. (August 7, 2002) -Providing design engineers with increased flexibility for connectivity in control cabinets, Wieland Electric Inc. introduced the WKF 1.5 E pluggable spring clamp terminal block. The series is designed to provide quick change wiring options within control cabinets. The spring clamp block provides a double-tier spring clamp connection on one side for fixed wiring, while the other side consists of pluggable blocks that can be immediately connected and disconnected for quick commoning of potentials.
"In control cabinet operations, wiring speed and efficiency is crucial to maintaining consistent machine production, regardless of application," said Wieland product manager, Marc Immordino. "The ability to connect and disconnect numerous terminations in one movement saves time and labor costs during factory installation and maintenance."
The spring clamp block provides 5mm termination point spacings and is UL rated for 15A, 300V for wire sizes 22-14AWG. The pluggable block (8113 Series) is rated for 12A and overvoltage category II (400V/4kV/2). The blocks are available in 2-16 pole configurations with 17-24 configurations available upon request.
Wieland's WKF 1.5 pluggable spring clamp blocks are manufactured of highly durable polyamide 6.6 plastic housing material rated to UL 94 V-0 flammability standards. Each block has built-in test points for accurate electrical readings and provides touch safe connections. All termination points are top mount accessible for easy access in confined spaces, while pluggable connectors are coded to prevent mismating.
