McGill Temporary Fixture Does Work of Several Strings of Lights, Can be Modified into Permanent Fixture

SKOKIE, IL, November 29, 2002 - Installing a single McGill TL Series high intensity discharge (HID) temporary fixture offers users extremely bright, energy-efficient lighting that is comparable to several conventional strings of lights.

"Our TL Series fixture is a cost-effective alternative to strings of lights, conventional incandescent lamps, and Low-Bay fixtures," said Greg Krause, National Sales Manager for McGill. "Plus, when the job is done, the TL Series can be made into a permanent fixture simply by changing the optic, saving time and money."

Ideal for use on construction sites, repair areas and loading docks, the TL Series fixture yields 6-foot candles of illumination from a 20-foot mounting height, or double the light output of comparable incandescent models.

No tools are required to install the fixture thanks to a spring-lock hook affixed to the ballast box that allows contractors to mount a unit in seconds. The low-profile design measures less than 18 inches, keeping it out of the way of any activity below. The rugged design includes a die-cast aluminum ballast housing with powder-coat paint making it suitable for damp job-sites such as tunnels, bridges and marinas. An optional NEMA L5-15P grounded plug is available.

The McGill unit comes with a 400W Metal Halide lamp (clear or coated), lamp guard, ballast housing, spring-lock hook, and a six-foot cord. It is UL and cUL Listed. McGill offers lighting layouts to conform to OSHA requirements.
