Tempil Introduces Safe Zone® Food Thermometer

Tempil, an ITW Company has introduced a food safety thermometer Safe Zone® for cold food storage and preparation.

The Food and Drug Administration requires chilled foods to be stored at temperatures at or below 40°F (4.4°C). This temperature inhibits microorganism growth and is part of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines.

The Tempil food safety thermometer may be used at work stations, cold storage facilities, cold buffets and all commercial and residential kitchens. It is accurate to ±2°F.

The thermometer is constantly in calibration, requiring no batteries or power sources. Two colors are displayed: green to indicate safety; black for temperatures in the danger zone.

Comparable in price to bimetallic thermometers, this new device assures the user by its simple signaling action of "OK 40°F or lower" that the food in storage or in preparation is safe.
