Temperature Loggers have 8 digital output lines.

Press Release Summary:

Bundled with TracerDAQ(TM) data management and analysis software, USB-5203 logs data from thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, and semiconductor temperature sensors, while USB-5201 only logs data from thermocouples. Both 8-channel devices log data to CompactFlash® (CF) cards with capacities of 2 Gb max and are suited for remote or stand-alone use. Along with user-configurable temperature alarms, products come with 64 MB CF card, power supply, and USB cable.

USB-5201 and USB-5203: 8-channel High-Performance Temperature Loggers

MIDDLEBORO, Mass.-November 9, 2005-Measurement Computing Corporation, a market leader in low-cost data acquisition, today announced the release of two new temperature loggers. The USB-5203 logs data from thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, and semiconductor temperature sensors, while the USB-5201 logs data from thermocouples only. Both units log data to industry standard CompactFlash® (CF) cards. These new modules are ideal for remote or stand-alone applications requiring temperature measurement where the use of a dedicated PC or laptop is not feasible. Both of the devices provide user configurable temperature alarms for control of eight digital output lines.

A 64-MB CF card can store approximately 2,350,000 time-stamped temperature values from a single channel. CompactFlash cards up to 2 GB in size are supported. Data can be retrieved either by connecting the device to a computer via a standard USB cable, or by placing the removable CF card into any standard CF card reader. The devices are bundled with TracerDAQ(TM), an industry-leading software package that provides easy data management and analysis. TracerDAQ converts and saves temperature and alarm data to standard, comma-delimited .CSV or text files. TracerDAQ also plots and analyzes real-time data or historical temperature files.

According to Marc Marini, Measurement Computing's General Manager, "Customers purchasing our USB-TEMP and USB-TC devices tell us that they love the performance of the product, but in some situations could not dedicate a computer to the measurement. These devices provide the perfect solution-they offer the same live temperature monitoring capabilities as the USB-TEMP and TC products, but can record the data to a removable CF card."

These products ship with a 64-MB CF card, a power supply, a USB cable, and the following software:

InstaCal(TM), an all-in-one installation, logger setup, calibration, and test application. InstaCal makes setting up and retrieving data from the logger as simple as a few quick mouse clicks.

TracerDAQ(TM), Measurement Computing's powerful stripchart recorder, oscilloscope, and data logger application.

Universal Library(TM) and UL for LabVIEW(TM), powerful language interfaces that allow users to write programs in all of the popular programming languages using easy-to-understand, high-level command syntax.

Measurement Computing Corporation is the market leader in the design and manufacture of low-priced computer-based test and measurement hardware and software. These products include USB-based analog and digital I/O devices; Ethernet-based analog and digital I/O devices; analog and digital I/O boards, serial and GPIB interfaces for the USB, PCI, ISA, cPCI, PCMCIA, and PC/104 buses, as well as RS-232/485 serial interfaces. The company, founded in 1989, markets its products world wide. Visit www.mccdaq.com for more information.
