Original Press Release:

Selco Offers Microprocessor-Based Digital Temperature Controller Featuring User Selectable Heating or Cooling Control

ORANGE, Calif. - Nov. 26, 2002 - Selco Products Company introduces the Model 2679 Digital Temperature Controller with microprocessor-based technology for ease of use and versatility. The 2679 features a wide temperature adjustment and control range for precise cooling or heating control and displays measurement in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Microprocessor-based technology allows reprogramming of onboard circuitry to meet requirements in a variety of applications including spas/saunas, compressors, food equipment, veterinarian operating tables, and refrigeration.

The 2679 is designed with a temperature control range from 20 to 220°F, accurate to ±1°F, with heating or cooling selected by jumpers. An optional timer function can also be added. The controller provides a high degree of flexibility with choice of factory-fixed or user-selectable input voltages. Voltages of 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz allow the user to select from either voltage. Fixed factory voltages can also be specified for 115 VAC, 230 VAC, 208 VAC, or 12-24 VAC/VDC, 50/60 Hz.

Other features include a compressor anti-short cycle when in cooling mode, sensor break protection, programmable set point differential, large 0.56-inch, three-digit digital display for easy visibility of temperature reading in low-light conditions, and UL approval. The unit measures 3.0"W x 3.9"L x 1.5"D, is easily front panel mounted via four 0.156" standoffs, and includes .250" quick-connect input and output connections. Operating environment is 30 to 158°F with 0 to 90%RH (non-condensing).

The 2679 Temperature Controller is used in conjunction with the Selco Model 3203 Temperature Probe, which senses the temperature and transmits the information back to the controller. The solid state, stainless steel probe measures 2 inches in length with a 1/4-inch diameter and comes standard with 24-inch leads. Other probe lengths and lead lengths are also available.

The Model 2679 Temperature Controller is priced from $25.00 to $35.00 in production quantities. The compatible Temperature Probe Model 3203 is priced from $4.00 to $7.00 in production quantities.
