Selco Introduces Solid State Hot Temperature Controller Offering Accuracy, Reliability and Flexibility for a Wide Range of Applications

ORANGE, Calif. - April 8, 2002 - Selco Products Company has introduced the Hot Temperature Controller (Model 2692) offering the accuracy, reliability and flexibility of solid state technology. Designed for a wide array of heating applications in the range of 50 to 290 degrees F, the Model 2692 is ideal for new equipment designs and as a low-cost replacement for bulb and capillary thermostat type controls.

Key features of the controller include a load-active red LED indicator, potentiometer adjustment (one turn, 270 degrees), and adjustable slotted mounting to match most bulb and capillary mounting footprints. The controller also offers a high degree of flexibility with a choice of factory-fixed or user-selectable input voltage configurations, 30-amp onboard relay or SSR drive output, fixed or adjustable temperature settings with nine range options, and 0.25"quick-connect input and output connections.

The Model 2692 Hot Temperature Controller measures 2.55"W x 3.4"H x 1.25"D with 0.9" from the PC board to the top of the potentiometer shaft. Designed for easy panel mounting with just two screws, the potentiometer shaft can be installed on either side of the board. Operating environment is 30 to 158 degrees F with 0 to 90% relative humidity (non-condensing).

The new controller requires a thermistor sensor temperature probe, available in a variety of configurations, with nominal value of 100K at 77 degrees F (sold separately). Options include additional temperature ranges, a fixed temperature setting and no potentiometer, normally closed relay output, custom temperature probes, matching knob for temperature setting, and circuit-side potentiometer.

"The Model 2692 Hot Temperature Controller offers all the advantages of solid state design, including a high level of both dependability and flexibility," said Russell Kido, Selco Product Manager. "And it is also designed for very easy installation and operation, either in new products or as an excellent retrofit choice."
