Eurotherm Introduces a New Feature-Rich 1/16 DIN Controller With Text Displays and it Fits Into Tight Places

LEESBURG, VA, USA, June 23, 2003 - Eurotherm, a worldwide leading manufacturer of temperature controllers and process instrumentation, announces a new temperature controller, the model 3216. This controller is only 90 mm deep and has been designed with machine builders and OEM's in mind. The 3216 has a text display, high accuracy input, 5 on-board process recipes (48 parameters per recipe) and Eurotherm's patented "Instant Accuracy"® system. The text display makes it easy for anyone to use or configure the controller. If a user scrolls to a parameter and hesitates a few seconds, the text display begins scrolling in marquee fashion. The display gives a description of that parameter in plain English (or one of 3 other languages). Ordering, configuration and maintenance have been simplified to simple code that completely specifies the functionality and configuration.

Features of the 3216 that make it an excellent choice are universal input, universal power supply, the ability to down load custom input curves, digital communications, IP65 rating and the availability of a current transformer input for monitoring load current. In addition, Eurotherm has released a new version of its graphical configuration software (iTools). The configuration interface is extremely small (about the size of a pack of cigarettes) and allows the controller to be configured without connecting it to a power source.

"This controller offers the best value available, for the price, in terms of both features and ease of use." said Jim Overturf, VP of Marketing, Eurotherm. He adds, "Our customers have told us that controllers are getting too complicated. The text messaging display and on-line help go a long way toward reducing the machine builders problems."

The outputs are configurable for heating, cooling and alarms.
