Temperature Controller complies with MODBUS and BACnet.

Press Release Summary:

Model ADAM-4022T features built-in 10 K thermistor input, making it suited for building automation. To reduce number of I/O modules, 2 control loops may be changed, through software, to function as PID controllers or I/O interfaces. PID output values can be interlocked with onboard emergency digital inputs to switch to pre-set safety value in case of emergency. Mounting options include wall, panel, piggyback, cabinet, and DIN rail.

Original Press Release:

New ADAM-4022T Temperature Controller Complies with MODBUS and BACnet

With built-in thermistor input, ideal for building automation solutions

Cincinnati, Ohio (March 15, 2004) - Advantech Corporation, Industrial Automation Group launched the ADAM-4022T in fulfilling system integrators' needs for PID controllers that can be used in MODBUS and BACnet applications.

Although MODBUS is the most widely used network protocol in the industrial manufacturing environment, BACnet is another popular protocol for building automation. The result is that these two standards are often combined in building automation applications. Depending on the application requirements, users can either select the MODBUS or BACnet. Since this protocol compatibility issue does not affect the ADAM-4022T, users will be able to focus more on critical tasks.

A Cost-effective Short-cut for Building Automation Applications

The ADAM-4022T is a cost-effective solution. The built-in 10K thermistor input means a separate transmitter is not be necessary. To reduce the number of I/O modules, the two control loops can be changed through the software to function as PID controllers or simple I/O interfaces. The bundled software can also be used to set the PID parameters. The ADAM-4022T translates into simpler integration, fewer modules, and shorter installation times.

Functions for Flexible and Reliable Use

The compact design of the ADAM® family saves space, and has flexible mounting options like wall, panel, piggyback, cabinets and of course, DIN rails. The PID output values can be interlocked with onboard emergency digital inputs to automatically switch to a pre-set safety value in the case of an emergency.

With its extensive and flexible features, the ADAM-4022T is set to become an important player in temperature control building automation.
