Temex's World-Class Performance Crystal Oscillators for Telecom, Test & Measurement, and Synchronization Applications

Chicago, September 14, 2006

Temex, a world leader in the design and manufacturing of time and frequency solutions, with a proven leadership track record in high-performance crystal oscillator manufacturing ideally suited for telecom and broadband applications, announces the deployment of a wide range of high-frequency voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO) and high-performance oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO).

Temex's 10MHz OCXOs are designed for testing and measurement, switches, GPS synchronization applications, VSATs, and digital audio broadcasting infrastructures. Ideal for switches and synchronization applications, the DOC5079 is a very cost-effective OCXO solution. This model has a temperature drift of less than 200 ppb. Its phase noise is at -90 dBc/Hz at 10Hz, and its aging is less than 500 ppb per year. DOC5079 is manufactured in a compact 1 x .9 x .4 in. (25.4 x 22 x 10 mm) surface-mount device (SMD) package.

The DOC5525 is a low noise OCXO solution ideally suited for test and measurement applications. Phase noise performance is the most critical parameter for testing applications. This model has an excellent phase noise performance at -127 dBc/Hz at 10Hz max. Its temperature drift is at 20 ppb and its aging is less than 100 ppb per year. This OXCO is manufactured in a compact 1 x .9 x .6 in. (25.4 x 22 x 15 mm) SMD package.

Ideally suited for repeaters and WCDMA BTS applications, the DOC5383 is a cost-effective SC-cut OCXO. Frequency stability versus temperature drift is the most critical parameter for broadband applications. Temex's DOC5383 temperature drift is down to 10 ppb max. Its phase noise is at -120 dBc/Hz at 10Hz. Finally, this model's aging is down to 100 ppb per year. DOC5383 is available in a 1.4 x 1 x .7 in. (36 x 26 x 18 mm) metallic through hole package.

The DOC5204 is a high-stability OCXO for CDMA, VSAT, and switching applications. These kinds of applications typically require a very high thermal stability and optimal aging characteristics. This model's temperature drift is down to 0.2 ppb and aging is down to less than 20 ppb per year. Phase noise performance for this device is -120 dBc/Hz at 10Hz. It is manufactured in a 2 x 2 x 1.5 in. (50 x 50 x 38 mm) metallic through hole package.

Thanks to its experience and know-how in crystal frequency products, Temex also provides high performance VCXOs for broadband, broadcasting, and telecom applications. The QEV66 VCXO generates frequencies between 80 and 240 MHz, with a very low phase noise (typically -98 dBc at 100Hz) and an absolute pulling range of ±50 ppm. This high-performance VCXO is available with an LVPECL or HCMOS output, and is manufactured in the industry standard .6 x .3 x .1 in. (14 x 9 x 3 mm) SMD package ensuring simplicity of integration. The QEV66 VCXO, characterized by a frequency stability of ±15 ppm, is ideally suited for telecom base stations and repeaters and for radio-links for telecom, broadband, and broadcasting applications.

These high performance VCXOs are supplied on a custom design basis, with a design-to-prototype leadtime of four to six weeks. All components are RoHS compliant and available in a fully lead-free version.
