Industry's first DSC/FEC Video Generator and Forward Error Correction Link Layer Compliance Tests Now Available
ELGIN, Ill., Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Teledyne LeCroy Inc., the worldwide leader in protocol test solutions, announced enhancements to its suite of DisplayPort 1.4 display stream compression (DSC) and forward error correction (FEC) test solutions.
The new 980 DisplayPort 1.4 Video Generator / Analyzer module now supports the industry's first DSC/FEC video generator and additional link-layer compliance tests for FEC, main link audio, video and power management. Initiated through the intuitive 980 Manager GUI, these tests are becoming a requirement in order for products to carry the VESA logo, signifying that the DisplayPort has met the highest industry standards. The new module is now the most complete solution available for testing DSC/FEC-capable sources and displays as well as for verifying compliance of HBR3-capable products to the VESA DP 1.4 standard.
The newly expanded DisplayPort 1.4 compliance test suite also offers extensive debug features that help identify link-layer compliance test failures and interoperability problems. The aux channel transaction logs associated with each compliance test can be examined to further identify the root cause of a compliance test failure. A pair of passive monitoring ports enable verification of the aux channel transactions between two distinct DisplayPort devices, thereby providing important insight into interoperability problems. Additionally, the capture analyzer function of the 980 DP 1.4 module provides deep visibility into DisplayPort protocols occurring over the main link, including the DSC elements. The detailed test reports, aux channel logs and main link captures can be distributed to colleagues and other subject matter experts for analysis.
