TE Showcases Next-Generation Connectivity Products and Demonstrations at DesignCon 2011, Booth 515

HARRISBURG, Pa., - Tyco Electronics (TE) will exhibit its broad portfolio of connectivity products at DesignCon 2011, booth #515, February 1-2, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, California. TE's theme for the event will be "Shaping Intelligent Connectivity." "We chose this theme for our booth at DesignCon to illustrate how our products are shaping the growing world of connectivity," says Michael Cole, vice president of Data Communications, TE. "As we see advancements in the intelligence used to create future system platforms -- and how our products help propel and connect their design -- we knew that this theme would best capture our products on display." TE will launch its PlanarMag embedded magnetics product technology at a press conference to be held on February 1, 2011 at 12:45 pm, room 205. Other new product introductions on display at the TE booth will include 40-Gbps QSFP+ transceivers as well as ESD (Electro Static Discharge) protection product solutions, which help protect sensitive circuits in consumer electronics from damage caused by ESD events. Additionally, TE will showcase its advances in delivering on 10G convergence in storage, networking and HPC datacenters through a display of its STRADA Mesa and RJ point five connectors; copper and fiber optic products; passive and active cable assemblies; and pluggable fiber optic transceiver modules. High-speed channel demonstrations for TE's next-generation Quadra I/O connector and STRADA Whisper backplane connector will be held at the booth, along with a fiber optics demonstration to show TE's vertical supply chain strengths in VCSELs, PINS, electronic PMD ICs and optical engine-based PARALIGHT FDR Infiniband-compliant active optical cable assemblies.
