TE Connectivity's Macro Sensors SSIR LVDT Position Transmitters Withstand High Pressure Washdowns and Contaminants of Sawmills

TE Connectivity's Macro Sensors SSIR 937 Series Submersible LVDT Position Transmitters are becoming a popular choice for (blade) position measurement applications within sawmills and wood products processing plants due to their high tolerance to water, debris and harsh operating conditions.

In addition to performing accurately amid flying sawdust and chunks of wood as well as fluctuating temperatures, these LVDT position sensors can withstand high levels of vibrations that occur during a cut and severe shocks caused by heavy logs being dropped into carriers.

As sawmills utilize a stream of water flowing over the blade during operations and are subject to heavy wash downs, a corrosion-resistant Inconel housing makes the Macro Sensors SSIR-937 Series LVDTs a long-term reliable solution in these environments, offering  <±0.1% non-linearity and excellent repeatability to 0.01% full range or better.

Originally designed for subsea use, the Macro Sensors SSIR-937 Submersible LVDT Position Transmitters offer a high-pressure Seacon subsea connector and molded cable assembly, making units completely water-tight.  (Water can infiltrate into the back shell of standard mating plugs)  Sensors are rated for 5,000 psi operating pressure (7,500 psi proof) in excess of 1 million hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and temperatures from -30°C to 80°C.
