Adhesives Research Introduces New Products to Its Line of Electronically Clean, Ultra-Low Outgassing Tapes for Hard Disk Drive Assemblies
Products will debut at upcoming Globaltronics and DISKCON USA trade shows
GLEN ROCK, Pa. (July 16, 2002) - Adhesives Research Inc., a leading global developer and manufacturer of custom pressure-sensitive adhesive tape technology, introduces three new products for the hard disk drive (HDD) market. ARclean® 8971 and ARclean® 8988 are two ultra-low outgassing products suggested for use in the fabrication of tape seals and microcontamination filters in HDD assemblies, and ARclean® 8921 is a non-silicone polyester film release liner.
ARclean® 8971 is an ultra-low outgassing, acrylic acid-free bonding tape with a permanent adhesive on one side and a strippable adhesive on the reverse side. It is suggested for use in the fabrication of environmental seals on HDD assemblies where clean strippability off of HDD e-coated aluminum base plates and covers with "adhesive-free" zones is required for rework after burn-in. This product is also suggested for bonding microcontamination filters inside of HDD housings.
ARclean® 8988 is an acrylic acid-free, ultra-low outgassing bonding tape with a 2-mil clear polyester film carrier. This permanent bonding tape is suggested for the bonding of microcontamination filters inside of HDD housings. ARclean® 8988 is heat resistant to the operating temperatures in HDD applications and is protected with a dual non-silicone polyester film release liner system.
ARclean® 8921 is a non-silicone polyester film release liner designed for use with a variety of pressure-sensitive adhesive coatings. It is particularly suitable for the fabrication of die-cut components for applications sensitive to the transfer of low molecular weight silicones. ARclean® 8921 features a cross-linked release coating on a white polyester film backing that exhibits stable release properties over time. Non-silicone release liners minimize system crashes due to silicone contamination, offer excellent resistance to aging and are compatible for use in cleanrooms.
